Matarin Capital Management, a Connecticut-based asset manager, has hired Ralph Coutant, formerly of Invesco, as a principal and portfolio manager, HFMWeek has learned.

In his role, he will focus on building and improving stock selection capabilities across all of the firm’s strategies.

“Ralph’s addition brings an incredible amount of longevity and continuity, in that all three members share the values of quantitative investing with a fundamental underpinning and great passion for investing,” said Valerie Malter, co-founder and managing principal.
