Marta Cotton, CAIA

Marta Cotton joined Matarin as a Principal and Director of Client Development in 2011 and has 27+ years of relationship management experience. She is responsible for oversight of marketing and client development. Marta is a former Managing Director from the Securities Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she worked with key hedge fund, mutual fund and pension fund clients.

Following Goldman Sachs, Marta served as a consultant for marketing strategy and business development for Helen Young Hayes (the former CIO of Janus Capital and founder of Cetera Capital) and also worked in investment management business development at Gerson Lehrman Group.

Marta earned her MBA from the University of Chicago and BS from the University of Florida. She was asked to be a founding member of the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Board Advisory Council. She is a leader of the organization’s Senior Practitioner Committee and just finished serving three years as Chairperson of the Education Committee. Marta also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Harlem Educational Activities Fund.
